Fans will be excited to know that Gilroy resident Regulo Zapata Jr., local author of the book "Desperate Lands: The War on Terror Through The Eyes of a Special Forces Soldier" will be having a book-signing event at Borders Stores in San Jose, California this Christmas Holiday!

11/10/2008 - Hello Folks, I just wanted to share an announcement!

The Book Release: Book Signing Event on: Desperate Lands: The War on Terror Through The Eyes of a Special Forces Soldier!

Reggie Zapata will be doing a Book Signing Event on: Saturday 15, November 2008, from 8am to 10am at (First Street Coffee House), 1211 1st Street, Gilroy, Ca 95020.

I look forward to talking and drinking some coffee while you are there. The Books will be sold during Veterans Day week at First Street Coffee House.

Other book signings events will be held later on during November and December at Borders located at Oakridge Mall and at Borders in Santana Row San Jose, California. Dates to be given later on.

4/15/05 Have you ever wondered what has changed on a page? There is a new feature to hilight the differences. Use the Versions link (from the right-side menu), and then there are Diff links next to each version in the list. Try it. --Grant

3/21/05 There are some nice little upgrades to the site from our friends at EditMe. Notice the Remember Me: checkbox on the Log In page, which can save you some effort. Also, the Recent Changes page now has accurate coments and version numbers - this is a much more useful place to see what has happened on the site. --Grant

3/13/05 Hello. I know everyone is occupied with their busy lives, but if you haven't made your classmember page, how about taking a few minutes to get started. Or just send me an email, and I will put it on your page. --Grant

2-16-05 Diane-- Yes, the bold text can be difficult. Try starting with your cursor at the beginning of the date of the previous comment. Start typing the new date - it will be bold. At the end of the date, press the "B" tool (in the toolbar) to disable bold. Continue typing your comment in non-bold. Add a line with the "Horizontal Rule" tool, and you're done.

Everyone-- If you see this comment, it looks like the automatic emails are not working after Feb 12. You will have to watch for changes on the Site Changes page until I contact EditMe to get it fixed. I may send some notifications manually if it continues. --Grant

If you've seen the home page recently, you've seen the animations. In answer to the common question, the artwork was done by my son, Gregory. The program is free, so if you would like to make your own, ask me where to get it.

I made a new page called ChatRoom for general conversation. SiteNews will be announcements about the administration and workings of this website.

As usual, I would like to encourage everyone to contribute a little by writing something on their own page. Also, any help to locate more of our classmates is greatly appreciated. We are trying to make a great place where our friends come back to visit once in a while. This big project gets done by small steps, by lots of people, over a long time.

10-31-04 Happy Halloween. We were indexed by Google this month. Just do a search for your name (or anyone in the class), and you'll see what that means. If anyone has a problem with that much international fame, let me know - there are things we an do to be more private. Make sure not to put contact info on your own page. --Grant

10-19-04 Responses are coming in. Look through the Changes today to find some great new biographies, and improved pages. And there are more on the way.

It looks like the great folks at EditMe.com have fixed the weekly notification feature. Probably, there will be messages in your mailboxes next weekend.

10-18-04 We've turned blue. The idea is to make it easier on some people's eyes. Tell me if you like it, or if you hate it.
Tonight I sent lots of reminders to folks who are not in the Directory, or whose page is empty. And a couple of new invitations. See what happens now.

9-29-04 I updated the reunion photo viewers. They now pre-load images in the background, which should be much better for people on modems. Tell me if they are more reliable and faster, or if there are more problems. It may be necessary for you to refresh the page in your browser. The new ones are recognizeable by the non-italic, smaller font in the titles (below the photos).

Now there are 25 members, of which 12 have actually taken some valuable time from their busy lives, figured it out, and contributed something. It just gets more interesting with each new arrival.
I have requested some information from the www.gilroyhighschool.com website about their alumni section. Maybe we can get a link from there and find some more people.

Check out Reunions. I just scanned photo negatives from the 5th and 10th. If there are problems viewing them, I will fix it. More to come. Make sure to set your Notifications to weekly, or more, so that you will know when new people arrive and new stuff is added.

09-23-04 I did have some problems viewing them, then I went back and they worked~ looked at them and then today I think it was the 5th reunion or maybe it was the 10th? (I already can't remember and that was only a couple hours ago, lol) only had x'd boxes. So I think it goes back and forth that you can view/not view. Maybe you are working on them or something when I tried to look at them? Diane

9-9-04 I've been using classmates to send invitations. I counted the list Loren typed from all the yearbooks and it has 370 on it if I counted right. Classmates only has 81 listed for our class. And some of those, I wonder who they are but I sent them an invitation anyway. Classmates will only let you do 20 per day. Diane

Okay first I selected and copied then went to edit then did a horizontal ruler than the cursor was where I wanted it then I pasted and it worked fine this time. I like the page how you have it. For 2 reasons. It's by date and you can edit it when it is in this space.

9-3-04 Welcome to Tricia. Thanks to Loren for entering the class list from the yearbooks. Otherwise, things have been fairly quiet this week. Just 13 of us, and 6 have made some edits. We haven't got out a notification to the rest of the people. I'm working on it. The big fun is yet to come.

8-27-04 Last night, Diane figured it out, and made a very nice member page. Then Barry joined us this morning. Note the warning on the Home page. I will be out of town on business. If I can get someone to fill in, I will, but the logistics are awkward.

8-26-04 Jeannine joined. We're starting to make plans for more administrator coverage and the mass email notification.

8-25-04 Welcome Leslie and Steve and Diane. Now we are ten. Reggie has been busy figuring out how to add photos. Nice work. Ask him if you need help. Make sure to keep the photo file sizes small. As the space fills up we have some ideas for linking to outside personal sites. For now, there's plenty of space, though. Every 2 hours (odd numbers), if pages have changed, I get an email phone message. There have been many.

8-23-04 Tracy, Marc, and Mary joined us today. That makes seven. I'm expecting the snowball to get rolling soon. I improved the photo browser for the 30th photos. Various people have had problems with malfunctions of the buttons.
