ghs1974 - Marc Bloom

Quick bio:

I attended College of the Redwoods in Eureka, then moved San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly in 76. In 79, I got married and had 2 kids. My son Caleb is now 27 and got married on September 25th (2004) and lives in Corvallis Oregon and my daughter Amber is now 25 and is married and living in Ashland Oregon. Thank goodness I am not a grandparent yet! I recently remarried (May 30, 2008) to a wonderful woman who just received her RN degree at Sacramento State University. She works at Mercy San Juan in Sacramento.

Professionally; I have been in the computer hardware and software business (81-86), the telecommunication business (86-2000) for AT&T, Lucent Technologies and then a company I helped start called Synectic Technologies (2000-2001), the long term care insurance business (2001-2002) for General Electric.

In October of 04, I was decided to return to the telecommunications industry and selected a very large and successful company (Inter-Tel Technologies) to work for. I couldn't be happier! I sold my home in Stockton (love the California "bubble"!) and purchased a home in North Sacramento (hate the California "bubble").

In January 2007 I became the General Manager of the Sacramento Branch of Inter-Tel Technologies. In 2008 they merged with a global Telecom manufacturer called Mitel. And here is the lastest... JUNE 4TH 2009 I RETIRED!!! (well, semi-retired while I contemplate my next 10 year goal!)

Addtionally through the years I have been in part-time endeavors such as; massage therapist, comedy show producer and web boutique owner.

It was great seeing everyone at the last reunion and I look forward to doing it again on August 15th. I also welcome any correspondence in the mean time. Additionally, if anyone is driving through Sacramento, feel free to drop me a line at:

Oh yeah.. those that were confused about my name change from Marc to Steve, needn't worry that I am in the witness protection system. I changed it in 1980 when I moved back to Gilroy a married man. I just wanted to shake the crazy stoner image I had when I was there and the name stuck.
