Greetings Class of '74! Thanks to Grant for his diligence in creating and prompting us to add to the web site. Great job! An overview of my last 30+ years . . . I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and received my degree in Home Economics (now known as Family & Consumer Studies). I spent a number of years working for various organizations as a Consumer Affairs Coordinator doing public relations and promotion work. I worked for the egg industry (no surprise there!) in California and the Northwest and then with Reynolds Aluminum. These jobs were such a blessing as I was able to see a lot of the country and really enjoyed the travel. I have lived up and down the west coast from Seattle to Orange County since my folks moved away from Gilroy in 1977. In 1989, Don Riggins and I were married and we have one son, John Ryan, who will shortly be 14 and a freshman in high school. We are excited about this new adventure as he will be attending a Christian high school which will be a continuation of his religious school education. Ryan plays soccer, basketball and golf, enjoys design, guitar and girls?!? I would call him a typical teen boy! Don and I lived in Orange County for a number of years before we moved to Portland, Oregon, to be closer to my family. My parents, sister, Kathy, and brother, Reg, all lived in the Portland metro area, so we enjoyed spending more time with the family and living a slightly slower pace of life. My Dad started an egg production facility in Aurora, Oregon, in 1977 and just recently retired from the company. Reg still works for Edelweiss Farms, is married to Lora, and has two kids, Keenen (18) and Jordan (14). Kathy has been married to Charlie for 23 years and they have 3 kids, Clinton (20), Austin (17) and Brianna (13). Charlie has recently taken a job with Dell Computers and they now live in Austin, Texas. We really miss having them close by. My youngest sister, Laurel, is married to Marc Verissimo and they live in Los Altos and have two children, Britney (17) and Brendon (15). I loved high school so much that I now teach high school and have for the past 10 years. Don works for CBRE in industrial real estate. We spent about 4 years remodeling a 50+ year old "California" ranch-style house near downtown Portland. We are involved at our church, Sunset Presbyterian Church. We also spend our time gardening, skiing, boating, camping and traveling around the USA. If you are ever in the area, give us a call. We'd love to see you! Leiann Last Modified 2005-07-13 |
