Hello, this is Grant. It was great to see some of you at the last reunion. Looking forward to the Thirty Fifth Reunion.
Home is in the Willow Glen area of San Jose for the past 20 years. It is a continual project.
Maria is my wonderful wife for 27 years, and we have three boys. Here we are at the thirtieth reunion. (Hey! Your hair is gray and thinning, too!).
Matthew is our oldest son, a jazz bassist. He is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts. Tribe Band is one of his bands. He specializes in the six string electric bass, which gives a wonderful top end for leads, as well as the deep rhythms.
Michael is an accomplished jazz drummer, starting his 4th year of studies at Manhattan School of Music this year ('09). Michael's hobbies include excelling in his music, studies, and occasionally sleeping. I had never heard such intricate and captivating drumming before. Now he has introduced me to the music of some of the greats in jazz, and my musical palette is forever spoiled. We saw Elvin Jones at Yoshi's a couple of years ago, before he passed away. What a powerhouse.
The acclaimed Yuma Sung Trio is composed of Matthew, Michael, and, of course Yuma Sung. They have taken top honors at many jazz festivals, and performed many professional gigs. http://www.yumasung.com/photos.html

Gregory is going into 10th grade. His hobbies include videogames and computers. He has plays guitar. He has not dedicated himself to music, though. Still in a formative stage, he has time to pick his specialty. We will see which direction his interests go in the coming years.
After hearing about the boys being musicians, the most frequently asked question is "do you or Maria play music?". Maria helped them with piano, but is not very musically inclined. I never really figured out how to be a musician, just how to play a stereo, and working on the guitar. So, this is not a case of inheirited musical abilities. The first two just got it, and dedicated themselves to it. One of their instructors was the strongest influence, teaching and inspiring them for 6 years. His name is Dave Gregoric, and we are indebted to him for his commitment.
My musical interests generally gravitate toward the blues. Some favorite artists are Fleetwood Mac (especially the very early days), Peter Green, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews.
I am working at
Mentor Graphics in San Jose. I do technical marketing for electronic design automation software. That involves giving demonstrations, training users, solving problems, and product planning.
Past jobs have progressed from process engineering, through integrated circuit design. Not many of my accomplishments are publicly available. Here's one from a few years back (~'94): http://www.micrel.com/page.do?page=/product-info/products/sy89426.shtml
My work has taken me on many journeys around the country and the world, especially in the past few years. Most recently to China, Taiwan, Germany, Korea, Egypt, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia. In the past 10 years I've flown in 250+ airplanes on 90+ trips through 45+ different airports (100 planes were in 18 months during 1999 and 2000. It has slowed down since.).
In February, 2005 I went to India for the first time, What a wonderful adventure. See some photos and comments on the India2005 page.
These photo links are broken. I will try to fix them soon...

I Graduated from UCSD with a bachelors in Applied Physics, minor in Psychology. Then, while working, I completed a masters in Electrical Engineering at [Santa Clara University].
My hobbies are home maintenance and computers and gardening and auto mechanics and guitar and whatever. Currently I am engaged in a great web site project ... here. For the forseeable future, I think I'll just try to pay the bills, and stay out of trouble.

How'd he do that? Wouldn't you like to know?
